— A father of three whose life was cut short by his wife’s death last year died at home Tuesday in his home on the beach.
The family’s son, Zachary C. Harnett, 58, of San Francisco, was among the first to report his father’s death.
“It is a great loss to the community and to the city of Bayside,” Bayside Police Chief John D’Agostino said in a statement.
Family members said Harnetts death was sudden.
He had lived in the area for more than 20 years, the family said.
Harnett was found dead at his home in Bayview at 4:30 p.m. “

He was not the only family member who lost a loved one this year.
His wife, Debra, died Jan. 30, and daughter, Jillian, died March 11.

He was very generous, always smiling,” Linda Harnet said.
He worked as a landscaper and had a large, beautiful home in the bay area, she said, adding that she hoped Hagenets death would bring some closure.
Linda said she hopes her son’s death brings some peace and understanding to those who have lost someone they loved.
